How to measure for your new custom,
embroidered cover
Is your cage:
A)
B)
or C)
Open top cage
Play top cage, or a cage with
Dome top cage
something solid on the top
To
measure for A) – cage with an open top, for an over
the top of the cage cover:
A)
Measure from side to side (width)
B)
Measure from front to back (depth)
C)
Measure from the top to where you want it to
hang to (length – generally where seed catching skirt attaches to the legs
of the cage, or, if your don’t use a skirt, about two inches below the cage
bottom
D)
Please specify if you would prefer:
I)
a Velcro opening to ease in putting cover on/taking cover off
II) an
overlap opening, where the fabric overlaps approximately 10 inches to
block
out light,
and does not require Velcro to stay closed
III) a
pleat in the back of the cover, which adds fullness and aids in covering
the
cage and
removing the cover, and leaves no
openings in the cover for
light to come through.
To
measure for B1) – Play top cage, or a cage with a solid top or a seed
catching pan resting on top of the cage
For
a wrap around cover, which wraps around the top of your cage,
is held in place with elastic and closes with Velcro
A)

Measure from the top to where you want it to
hang to (length – generally where seed catching skirt attaches to the legs
of the cage, or, if your don’t use a skirt, about two inches below the cage

To
measure for B2) – Play top cage, or a cage without a solid top or a seed
catching pan resting on top of the cage
For
an over the top cover, which will also cover the play area

Measure from the top to where you want it to

of the cage, or, if your don’t use a skirt, about two inches below the cage

Measure from the perch on the play top to the
top of the cage.
E)
State which direction the perch runs:
I)
from side to side (as shown) or,
II) from
front to back
F)
Describe how the perch is held up:
I)
with arched supports (as shown), or
II) with
inverted “V” supports
To
measure for C) – dome top cage, for an over the top
cage cover
A)
Measure from side to side (width)
B)
Measure from front to back (depth)
C)
Measure from the top to where you want it to
hang to (length – generally where seed catching skirt attaches to the legs
of the cage, or, if your don’t use a skirt, about two inches below the cage
bottom
D)
Measure from the top center of the arch to
where the cage would be a flat top without the arch (arch calc)
FOR ALL CAGE TYPES:
Please be certain to mention
anything that sticks out from the cage, such as seed skirts, water bottles,
food bowls, etc. Please let me know how far it protrudes, and it's
location.
In the case of a seed skirt, the
covers are GENERALLY made to end where the seed skirt attaches to the cage,
tucking into the seed skirt. Please let me know if you prefer otherwise.
FOR A CAGE TYPE NOT LISTED ABOVE -- please send
me a photo. I will show what I need measured, and send it back to you.
If
you don’t see the configuration you’re looking for (such as corner cages),
please include a sketch or photo of the cage with the necessary measurements,
and specify the type of cover needed as well as the information below.
